Resident Service Spotlight

Denise Tachiki Lopez, Resident Services Coordinator

Denise Tachiki Lopez is a Resident Services Coordinator at Ten Fifty B Street in San Diego and has worked for the company since May of 2016. Denise has her Associates Degree in Philosophy from Southwestern College.

Before working for Embrace, Denise was a Supervisor for the Boys and Girls Club at an elementary school in San Ysidro. Since coming to work at Embrace, she has used her talents and skills to put together a unique program for her downtown San Diego family property. Denise’s site is interesting as it is a high-rise building which comes with many challenges when coordinating a services program. Her community room space is on the 9th floor shared with many neighboring apartments and the property management office is on the seventh floor which makes reaching residents somewhat challenging.

Denise enjoys being there for her kids and especially likes helping with their academic or behavioral challenges. Assisting in their growth is something that Denise finds most satisfying in her work. She also thoroughly enjoys helping the adults at Ten Fifty B Street. She has put into place many services, workshops, resources and a monthly food distribution which greatly enhance their well-being. Denise enjoys interacting with residents and she loves the daily challenges she faces meeting them head on and always with a smile.

Embrace partners with Hands of Mercy, Encounter (H.O.M.E.) to provide food to low income seniors. The residents at Coventry Heights and Cambridge Heights Apartments now receive a food distribution two times a month thanks to the generous support of the Hands of Mercy, Encounter organization. The food helps to provide a much needed food supplement for our fragile seniors. Seniors living on a very low fixed income often times go hungry towards the end of the month as their benefits run out. Hands of Mercy helps to provide the necessary support they need to overcome this challenge. We thank Hands of Mercy for their generosity and their support of our community.
